About Me
A Bit About Me.
I am a new and upcoming Interior Designer, with a background in Art & Design, Photography, Media makeup & Prop design and Graphics design, who enjoys making whimsical and wonderful interiors that encompass fantasy-esc and slightly dystopian concepts, that leave people questioning why every interior doesn't look quite like this. My goal in the world is to show people the strange wonders of interior design whilst considering sustainability and the future wellbeing of people both mentally and physically around every turn. A few of my hobbies include playing video games, reading and writing books, singing and writing songs/music and cooking/baking.
My career choice appeared out of the blue one day when, for once, I truly considered my future career paths after college, and asked my best friend what she wanted to do. She mentioned designing for events like weddings and party's, and it got me thinking about room decoration as a whole. From that, I considered the idea of becoming an architect, but soon realised I wanted more than that. I wanted to refurbish and redesign almost every part of a building and so, I hunted the internet for universities that could offer me that chance, and stumbled across Solent University in Southampton, where I would later be offered a place in the Interior Design & Architecture course of 2021.
The style of my designs all stem from fantasy, books, film and video games, as it has been a genre I have been heavily enthralled in since I was a child, and will forever be passionate about. I relate the idea of fiction to my interior spaces as I am interested in psychology, and how to help relieve people of the bad in the world, creating more space for the good. Especially in the art and design industry as a whole, and specifically since the mental health crisis that thrived throughout the pandemic in 2019 and hit an all time low around the entire world. Mental health has always been a problem that people have avoided and have even been shamed for. in the past. Luckily though, the present is looking exceedingly positive towards it, and I am as ambitious as ever to participate in that major growth.
As well as mental health, I strive to consider physical health too, and helping the planet we live on succeed for centuries to come. This is why, in my designs, I focus on sustainable materials and eco-friendly products that don't have to travel far to be incorporated into my interior spaces.
Although being fully sustainable is hard to achieve, I try my absolute best to get as close to it as possible so I can encourage a healthy planet and healthy people as a result!
